Bonga Family Adventures

Katie, Abby, Lucy and I took the gondola from Gimmelwald to the valley to watch the stream of base jumpers. I got one video with my telephoto from the valley floor of the guy jumping from the ledge and careening down the face of the rock. Insane!!! We were so close to where they were landing that Katie didn't think we were safe.

A couple of the guys let me follow them to where they "exit". Just getting to the "exit" point was a death wish. One slip and you are going over the edge. My palms are sweaty even as I type this. Climbing out on the launch platform on my belly, I was so scared it was all I could do to keep the camera from shaking.

I have never seen anything like this.

I was amazed that Bruce caught this on video. I don't think Robbie made it out alive.

We stayed at a small fishing village called Praiano, in between Amalfi and Positano. Our place had a panoramic view of the Med with Positano in the background. It was the perfect place for us to hole up and get some school done. Every day I would hike the 246 steps to the market to get fresh bread for breakfast and lunch (think mortadella sandwiches). We loved being off the beaten path among the lemon groves of our Amalfi coast!

We spent 1 week in Rome and loved everything about it. The sights, the food, the people and the chaos were all amazing! The spectacular weather didn't hurt either.
